Steering Rack

The steering rack had developed some "play" on the passenger's side, so I replaced it. Unfortunately, the new rack is not quite the same as the old one, in how it mounts to the front suspension crossmember.

The old rack (top) mounts to the front suspension crossmember on the driver's side using feet cast into the housing. The new rack (bottom) uses a second rubber isolator, like the one on the passenger's side only smaller.

Close-up of the driver's side mounts. I have no bracket for this second rubber isolator, because my car never had one. (The new rack is on the left.)
